Recomma Quiz Builder allows you to automatically create customers in Shopify from quiz leads. You can also assign tags to these customers based on their quiz responses, helping you segment them for marketing and sales purposes. This guide will walk you through the process of enabling this integration and configuring it to match your needs.
Connecting Quiz Leads to Shopify Customers #
Step 1: Enable Shopify Customer Integration #
1. Open the Recomma Quiz Builder app from your Shopify admin.
2. Navigate to the Integrations menu item.
3. Find Shopify Customer Integration and click on the Connect to Shopify Customers button.
4. In the popup that appears, grant the necessary permissions to allow Recomma to create customers and update tags in your Shopify store.

Step 2: Enable the Integration for a Specific Quiz #
1. Go to the Quizzes section in Recomma Quiz Builder.
2. Select the quiz for which you want to enable the integration.

3. Navigate to the Integration tab.
4. Enable the Shopify Customer Integration for this quiz by ticking the Create Customer on Quiz Completion checkbox.
5. Save your settings.
Assigning Tags to Customers #
To assign tags to customers based on their quiz responses:
1. Navigate to the Products page in Recomma Quiz Builder.
2. Find the Select Customer Tag(s) option and activate it.

3. In the text box that appears, enter the tag name. This tag will be created instantly and assigned to the customer if they select the corresponding quiz option.
4. Save your changes to ensure the tags are applied correctly.
Customer Data Collection #
Please note that the only required information for automatically creating a customer is the email address.
When a guest user completes a quiz, Recomma collects the following customer information:
- Name
- Phone Number
If no name is provided, the system will automatically use the email address as the customer’s name.
For logged-in users, there is no need to collect name, email, or phone number. Instead, tags will be assigned directly to their existing Shopify profiles. If an already existing user completes a quiz and enters their email, a new customer will not be created; instead, tags will be added to their current profile.
